How to Ride - It's as easy as One, Two, Three

WHAT IS DIAL-A-RIDE?

Clay County General Public Transportation  (CCGPT)   does not have a fixed bus route. Instead we use a first call, first serve basis, so you need to call our dispatch @1-785-632-2447.  All schedule rides must be coordinated with Dispatch.  Any rides being coordinated by any other means will be denied and can not be guaranteed a ride will be available.



HOW TO SCHEDULE AND RIDE WITH THE CCGPT

Make a Reservation


  • You should make reservations at least one day (in town)  in advance. Call before 4pm the previous day. Its also a better deal than Same day Rides!!
  • All Out of Town Rides must be Scheduled with at least 48 hours advance notice
  • You can call up to 1 month ahead of time to schedule your trip.
  • Same-day reservations will be accepted on a space available basis. We will do all we can to give you a Ride, But we cant guarantee one will be available as certain days tend to fill up quickly.
  • Appointments for return trips should be made at the time of initial reservation when possible.


To request a trip, call  CCGPT and be ready to provide the following information:

  • Name and the number of riders
  • Pick up location
  • Destination name and address
  • Call back phone number
  • Time of Scheduled Appointment


Please advise the dispatcher if:

  • The pickup location is difficult to access
  • You (or the passenger) require assistance
  • You must be at your destination at a specific time.


Cancelling Reservations

  • If you will not be making a trip that you have reserved, you must cancel the reservation at least one hour before the scheduled pickup time


Riding With Us

  • The dispatcher will give you an estimated arrival time.
  • However, you should always be ready at least Five (5) minutes prior to the scheduled pick up time as the schedule may vary.
  • The vehicle may arrive up to 10 minutes before or 5 minutes after the scheduled time.
  • The driver will wait no longer than five (5) minutes at the pickup location after the appointed scheduled time for Pick Up.
  •  We are a shared ride service, so other passengers may be picked up or dropped off during your trip.
